For the R, we select the best vines in our old vineyards – a great deal of handwork for the smallest quantities. Spontaneously fermented in traditional open vats – as with all our red wines – and aged in small oak barrels.
On the nose, ripe vineyard peaches, cassis and a hint of crushed pepper – more volume, more depth. The wine brings plenty of warmth and power and is particularly well suited to cellaring and ageing. There is only a little of this wine, but we're happy to share it with you.
Officially, the R stands for Reserve – Richard says it stands for “reserved for Richard”.
