We Are the Arns Family

Richard studied viticulture in Geisenheim and is still fully committed to it today – he especially loves taking care of the technical side: tractors, the bottling line, the press, everything that needs to run and keep running. But he's truly in his element during a wine tasting or tour, telling guests about the wines – you can see it on his face. In the evening on the terrace, he drinks our Gutsabfüllung trocken, preferably neat and without much fuss.

Martina looks after our holiday apartments and the bookkeeping, and she's usually the first to pick up the phone when guests call. In the vineyard, she's taught herself gentle pruning techniques over the past few years, and at harvest time she makes sure the picking crew is well fed. Her wine is the Briedeler Weißerberg – she's known that vineyard since her childhood.

I studied viticulture in Geisenheim, with internships in Trentino and the Valais, before taking over the estate in 2021. What occupies me most is the vineyard itself – the balance of the vines, the life in the soil, symbioses and natural processes, solutions without much chemistry or machinery. I love all our wines – if I had to choose, it would probably be the Reiler Falklay.

Like me, Caro studied viticulture in Geisenheim – that's where we met. She keeps the books for our sparkling wine and generally has the eye for design in the business, from choosing labels to the tasting itself. Her wine is our Riesling extra brut – barely any residual sweetness, plenty of freshness, right on point.

Pauline is a whirlwind who loves flowers, cooking and decorating, while Jakob is the tech enthusiast, always up for any machine or computer. With us, it's already clear what they like best: our white grape juice, preferably as a spritzer. It's only when "their" grapes end up becoming wine after all that the two of them are a little disappointed.
